WESTARM Physical Therapy of Lower Burrell, PA, announces the hiring of Julia E. Murhammer, DPT, as a Staff Physical Therapist to work primarily in the Leechburg / Allegheny Township facility located at 1001 South Leechburg Hill Road and as needed at multiple outpatient facilities located in the Alle-Kiski Valley.
Dr. Murhammer earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC and a Bachelors of Science degree (BS) in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She is certified in CPR / AED and is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Julia is a resident of Gibsonia and graduated from Deer Lakes High School. While she was at Emory she was treasurer and vice president of the university’s Pre-Physical Therapy Club. At Duke she was co-leader of a community outreach program that performed health and functional screenings on substance abuse rehab residents to prevent work-related injuries. Her personal interests include hiking, cooking / baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
WESTARM Physical Therapy is a Medicare Certified Rehabilitation agency that has been in business for over 33 years. They offer Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy at eight (8) facilities primarily in the Allegheny-Kiski Valley of Pittsburgh. WESTARM also contracts with local school districts to provide therapy for special-needs students and athletic training services for injured athletes.
