New Vertigo Treatment: Insight Infrared Video Goggles

WESTARM has obtained one of the most advanced vertigo and dizziness assessment tools on the market: the newly FDA-approved Insight Infrared Video Goggles.

Vertigo is a very common, often disabling condition, and the cause is not always understood properly within the medical community.  Some vertigo patients can see 4-5 specialists and/or therapists before a proper diagnosis is given. While there are many conditions that can cause vertigo, most can be treated by our skilled physical therapists and get you back to doing what you love.

Using infrared technology, the Insight Infrared Video Goggles (from Vestibular First) allow physical therapists to record and assess eye movements that may not be visible to the naked eye. This can lead to better results in therapy and quicker recovery times.

The patient's eye movements are captured in great detail by the goggles and can analyzed by the Physical Therapist for any irregularities.

Will Jones, DPT, Facility Director of WESTARM’s Lower Burrell Facility, recently received an intensive certification as Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist from the University of Pittsburgh. It is one of only a few courses in the country that allows more specialized treatment and management of vertigo in patients experiencing dizziness, balance and other related issues.

Many vertigo issues can be alleviated in as few as one or two physical therapy sessions. If you are suffering from vertigo or balance issues, give us a call today to schedule an appointment at 724-337-6522.
